What customers say?

“ Really enjoyed a fruit scone and tea here. Right in the heart of St Andrews but not so busy and loud as other cafes. Great prices and friendly service. ”

- Melody Schwarting -

“ There are few better places to go if you're stopping for tea or lunch amidst the old rustic stone streets of St Andrews. Admittedly, this place can become quite crowded on weekends. You might have to wait for a little, but the waiting is worthwhile, as the food here is hearty and sumptuous. Soft and faintly chewy white bread often accompanies meals, such as the thick and delicious cream of mushroom soup. Enjoy the effortlessly cosy atmosphere, and make sure to return here for more delicious food. There is a soft elegance to this place that is eternally appealing. ”

“ Loved eating here. Never noticed this cafe before as it's tucked away between the Council building and the Bothy. Our light lunch was excellent, we couldn't fault any of the food brought to the table. The lattes tasted nice and were hot, too. The servers were brilliant, tables were cleaned immediately after the customers left, and they were polite, prompt, and well presented. In fact, a special mention must go to the server with the blue dye in your hair (sorry didn't catch your name, but you were working on the Bank Holiday May 1st) for going that extra mile to make our visit enjoyable. You offered to toast my wife's sandwich, which, although it wasn't on the menu, wasn't a bother. It's small things like that, which makes a huge difference. There are tables available inside and out, and the customer toilets were clean and tidy. Just watch when moving the chairs as they are of good quality and quite heavy. ”

“ A hidden gem. Very kind people serving wonderful coffee and cakes. We visited on a Saturday afternoon. They couldn’t have been more accommodating for our dog including biscuits, and also had dog-free spaces. ”

“ I can’t tell you how much I love it here. I come to St Andrews 2-3 times a year and always have to come in for a soup and sandwich. Our dog absolutely loves it in here too and drags us in. He always gets loads of attention and treats. The staff are so lovely and friendly, the bread is always fresh and soup delicious. My favourite place. Can’t wait to come back already! ”
